Biafran Liberation Army Commander Vows Continued Violence in South-East Nigeria

Gentle, the self-proclaimed commander of the Biafran Liberation Army, a militant group linked to violence in South-East Nigeria, has vowed to continue his attacks until Nigeria is destabilized.

The group is reportedly under the influence of Finland-based Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa, who is currently detained in Finland on terrorism charges.

Ekpa claims to fight for the creation of the Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BGIE), but the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its detained leader, Nnamdi Kanu, have publicly distanced themselves from him.

In videos shared online, Gentle declared he operates independently, rejecting Nigeria’s sovereignty and daring security forces to apprehend him, claiming he is “not a Nigerian.”
