Jude EzeNwafor, Peter Obi’s main challenger withdraws from Presidential race

Mr Jude EzeNwafor the factional Presidential Candidate of Labour Party has reportedly withdrawn from the 2023 Presidential race.

EzeNwafor who had received ultimatum from the Igbo socio cultural group Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth council worldwide led by Mazi Okwu Nnabuike to withdraw from the Presidential race.

 

 

According to a report by DAILY POST he took decision via a letter he conveyed to the national leadership of his faction of the party.

He said in the letter being circulated online that his decision to withdraw was personal and appealed to his supporters to understand him.

The letter reads, “I hereby withdraw from the forthcoming Presidential Election in 2023. After consulting my supporters Nationwide, I decided to withdraw for personal reasons.

“I regret any inconvenience my withdrawal might cost our great Party. I thank the leadership of our great Party for giving me the opportunity to serve Nigeria”.

The Movement for the Actualization of the  Sovereign State of Biafra, has however issue an Ultimatum to the him demanding him to withdraw from the Presidential race.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, as well as the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, had also earlier dismissed Ezenwafor and his faction.

However the former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has officially become the flag bearer of the Labour Party come 2023 Presidential Election.

The President Ohanaeze Ndigbo youth council has however stated that letter is not enough to announce his withdrawal that he should make a broadcast.
“Ezenwafor should do a broadcast for us to be convinced. He can disown the letter at any time.”
