Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has made a shocking statement, claiming that he is a mad man undergoing treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta.
Portable made this declaration while appealing to Nigerians and the Ogun State Government on Tuesday, following reports that he had been declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command.
The Zazoo Zeh crooner was accused of assaulting three officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ota Zonal Office—TPL Onabanjo Abidemi, TPL Raymond Lateef, and TPL Ridwan Oyero Akinlesi—who were carrying out an enforcement exercise in Oke-Osa, Tigbo Ilu Ota, Ogun State.
According to reports, the officials encountered an elderly man, later identified as Portable’s father, at Odogwu Bar in the area.
When they asked for the approved building plan, he informed them that his son was unavailable.
However, moments later, Portable allegedly arrived with a firearm and led a gang of nine thugs to attack the unarmed officials.
The police report stated that the enforcement officers sustained bodily injuries but managed to escape and reported the incident to the Ota Area Command, which later escalated the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further action.
The incident has once again placed Portable in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, as authorities continue to investigate the matter.
