The Agitation for Biafra Republic has indeed affected the southeast residents especially having to stay at home every Monday in protest for the arrest of the Leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu.
The idea of Sit-at-home every Monday was introduced by the Indegeneous people of Biafra, IPOB, which they later announced cancelation of the excercise after one week, since then the southeast residents has continued to sit at home even as the excercise was cancelled.
The effect of the agitation for Biafra is greater in the southeast more especially food and daily needs, fear of death has been another major issue in the region as Unknown Gunmen has been on Rampage.
Army, ESN and Police are clashing almost all the time in different locations, the life of every resident in the southeast now depends on God’s will.
Tention of being killed by stray bullet from Army, Police or Gunmen still remains another worry in the region.
Northerners who run their normal Business in the east is now scared of death, most of the foods consumed in the southeast are from Northern Nigeria, especially Onions, Cucumber, Tomatoes, Cow meats etc.
Northerners who buy goods from the southeast has decided to stay away over fear of being killed by angry youths or Unknown Gunmen, especially Baskets and others.
A Basket that is being sold at N300 – N400 per basket around Orsu LGA and Ihiala LGA, is now being sold at N50 per one, since Hausa trailer could not come and carry goods anymore.
Source said Notherners are lamenting and praying for them to settle any issue in between so they can come pack thier goods.
Goods import to the southeast is another worry as most of the notherners who brings good from north can’t do so anymore since they don’t know what will happen, and how safe they are.
