Her statement comes in the wake of the six-month suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over alleged misconduct and violation of Senate rules.
The Senate, during its plenary session on March 6, 2025, voted to suspend Akpoti-Uduaghan following heated exchanges and accusations she made against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The Kogi Central senator had earlier alleged that Akpabio victimized her in the Senate because she rejected his alleged sexual advances.
Her suspension has sparked mixed reactions, with some criticizing the Senate’s decision as politically motivated, while others argue that she breached legislative protocols.
First Lady Remi Tinubu, a former senator herself, weighed in on the matter, stating that the legislative chamber should uphold integrity, decorum, and professionalism rather than becoming embroiled in personal disputes.
