IKoyi Building Collapse: rescuers struggle to save lives as death toll rises.

Lagos State Government rescue team are still searching for the survivors at the Ikoyi building collapse.

Officials say the death toll has risen to 22 as at 4th November.

According Lagos State Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotosho he said six member impartial team of engineers has been created to ” confirm what actually went wrong and find ways to stop further disaster like this”.

According to report 22 persons has been confirmed dead while 9 others has been rescued and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

When the 21 story building fell, the Lagos State Governor had issued a statement saying he has no idea how many people who are actually in the building and who they are, as there are no record to show for people residing in the building.

“Unfortunately it has also been difficult for us to identify anyone, or anyone to come forward as the project manager, or a staff of the developer or contractor,” he said during a visit to the site.
