I left Nigeria because I supported #Endsars Protest – Davido

Award winning Nigerian Singer and songwriter, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has said he left Nigeria over fear of the Government because he was involved in the #Endsars Protest on October 2020.

The DMW Record Label Owner said he had to leave Nigeria because he supported the Endsars protest which the Government has taken to a greater heights.

He Made this known while speaking with Trevor Noah on Daily Show.

He said one of his songs ‘Fem’ became an anthem for the protesters, although he didn’t make the song hoping for the protesters but it’s just a coincidence.

Davido said:

“I got into a lot of trouble. I had to actually leave the country. It was that bad.

“I was reposting everything that had to do with the campaign. It was amazing to see people come out like that.

 

“And I will say this: they listened to us. They heard us. They might not have changed anything but they were shook.”
