An Anambra State High Court has ordered the remand of three popular native doctors — Chidozie Nwangwu, famously known as Akwa Okuko Tiwara Ki; Onyebuchi Okocha, also known as Onyeze Jesus; and Ekene Igboekweze, popularly referred to as Eke Hit — in prison custody pending further legal proceedings.
The decision was handed down on Friday, following their arraignment on undisclosed charges, which are believed to be linked to alleged criminal activities currently under investigation by security agencies in the state.

Onyebuchi Okocha (Onyeze Jesus), on the other hand, gained notoriety for controversial “prophetic” rituals that went viral on social media, drawing criticism and even investigations in the past. Ekene Igboekweze (Eke Hit) is also regarded as a spiritual figure with significant followership and online presence.
The remand of these three figures has sparked widespread reaction across Anambra State and beyond, with many expressing shock over the court’s decision, while others view it as a step towards accountability and due process in the face of rising concerns over ritualism and unchecked spiritual practices in the region.
