AC Milan have officially withdrawn from completing the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Boniface after the forward failed to pass medical examinations.
The Italian club had reached a verbal agreement with Bayer Leverkusen for a deal worth €5 million as a loan fee, with an additional €24 million option to buy.
Boniface, who arrived in Milan within the last 48 hours to finalize the move, was expected to bolster Milan’s attacking options ahead of the new season.
However, the transfer collapsed after the player did not meet the medical requirements set by the club. Following the setback, Boniface is scheduled to return to Germany today, where he is under contract with Bayer Leverkusen.
The collapse of the move comes as a disappointment for both Milan and the player, who was eager to embrace a new challenge in Serie A.
Milan are now expected to explore alternative options in the transfer market to strengthen their frontline before the window closes.
Boniface, 24, played a crucial role for Bayer Leverkusen last season, gaining attention for his strength, pace, and finishing ability.
Despite the setback, he remains a highly regarded prospect in European football.
