JUST IN: NYSC Begins Payment of New ₦77,000 Monthly Allowance

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has officially commenced payment of the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance for corps members, effective March 2025.

This development comes after months of anticipation following discussions on upgrading corps members’ stipends to align with the current economic realities in Nigeria.

The increase represents a significant boost from the previous ₦33,000 allowance, providing much-needed financial relief to corps members serving across the country.

Several corps members have confirmed receiving the new payment, sparking excitement and discussions on social media platforms.

The increment is expected to improve the welfare and motivation of corps members, many of whom have struggled with the rising cost of living.

Although the NYSC management has yet to issue an official statement regarding the payment structure, sources within the scheme have confirmed that all eligible corps members will receive the revised allowance moving forward.

This move is seen as part of the federal government’s broader efforts to enhance youth empowerment and national service.

Corps members across various states have welcomed the increase, expressing gratitude for the improved financial support during their service year.
