A popular social media personality, N’ututua, who has gained attention for his striking resemblance to Nigerian highlife star Flavour N’abania, has denied claims of impersonation or fraud involving the singer’s identity.
In a video circulating online, N’ututua clarified that while many people mistake him for the award-winning musician, he has never used Flavour’s name to deceive anyone.
“I have never scammed anybody using Flavour’s name before,” he said. “I just love him so much and I’m only acting like him. I’m his look-alike, but I’ve never scammed anyone.”
The Anambra-born entertainer, who frequently performs at local events dressed and styled like Flavour, explained that his resemblance to the singer has become his source of income.
According to him, he performs at shows for between ₦700,000 and ₦800,000, a rate he says is modest compared to what the real Flavour would charge.
“Flavour cannot go for such small shows, but I can. That’s how I make my living,” N’ututua said with a smile.
He added that while he imitates the singer’s stage presence and mannerisms, he does so out of admiration, not deceit. “Using Flavour’s name to scam people will be like spoiling his reputation. I can’t do that to someone I love and look up to,” he stated.
N’ututua has continued to attract a growing online following for his performances, which mirror Flavour’s voice, dance moves, and energy.
Despite the ongoing public debate about celebrity look-alikes and potential impersonation, N’ututua maintains that his craft is purely entertainment and a tribute to one of Nigeria’s most beloved musicians.
