Bandits Kill Four, Kidnap Zamfara LG Vice Chairman and Several Others

Bandits have killed four people and kidnapped the Vice Chairman of Bukkuyyum Local Government Area, Hon. Bala Muhammad Maijidadi, along with several others in Zamfara State.

According to reports, the coordinated attacks occurred between Sunday night and Monday morning, targeting multiple communities in the region.

A local resident, Nasiru Adamu, told DAILY POST that gunmen invaded Shemori community, Mada District of Gusau, around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday, abducting six women.

The attacks continued early Monday morning when another gang stormed Kairu community in Zugu District, killing two locals and kidnapping an unspecified number of people.

In Mada town, Gusau District, the gunmen attacked Hayin Bajumi, setting fire to the house of Aliyu Usman. The fire tragically claimed the lives of his two children, five-year-old Ishaq Aliyu and two-year-old Jafar Aliyu.

Additionally, the gunmen abducted Usman’s neighbor’s wife and her one-year-old baby before fleeing the scene.

Efforts to get an official response from Zamfara State Police spokesperson, ASP Yazeed Abubakar, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.

The escalating insecurity in Zamfara continues to raise concerns, with many calling for urgent government intervention to tackle the rising wave of banditry and kidnappings.
