At 94 years old, Adedapo Idowu has proven that age is no barrier to education as he registers for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
His inspiring story was featured in the latest bulletin of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), where he expressed excitement about finally pursuing tertiary education.
“I can now attain my dream at an advanced age,” Idowu said, emphasizing his determination to further his studies.
He described the UTME registration process as smooth and efficient, praising JAMB for integrating the National Identity Number (NIN), which he believes has helped eliminate discrimination against the elderly, underprivileged, and people with disabilities.
“The registration staff gave me a sense of belonging through their warm reception at the registration venue,” he added, appreciating the support he received.
Idowu encouraged JAMB to maintain its seamless registration system, expressing confidence in his ability to take the exam and succeed.
He also offered advice to other candidates, urging them to embrace professionalism, dedication, and contentment in their academic journey.
